Age Group Training Squads

To make swimmer progression clear and consistent, we have an established squad pathway as follows:

Skills → Development → Competitive → Progression → County → Regional → National
(Masters and Junior Masters squads sit outside this pathway; click here for details)

Each squad has:

• Clear entry criteria based on performance, commitment, behaviour and attitude.
• Transparent timelines for movement between squads.
• Published expectations for swimmers and parents.

Squad allocations are carefully reviewed by the Coaching Team, considering every swimmer’s training, competition performance, attendance, and behaviour. Click here to download the Squad Structure which details the entry criteria and performance expectations for each squad.

Squad changes are made on a termly basis; there is an independent appeals process for parents/swimmers who wish to query squad placements. Details can be found in the Squad Move Policy.
