A group of swimmers, parents and coaches from Deepings SC headed to Holland on 1-4 July to take part in the Netherlands Invitational Meet, Eindhoven. It proved to be a successful trip with medals and PBs galore!

The 18th Netherlands Invitational meet was held in the Pieter van den Hoogenband swimstadion in Eindhoven with teams from Germany, USA, the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. Swimming took place in the two pools simultaneously, with younger swimmers in the 8-lane 25m pool and older swimmers in the 50m 10-lane pool.

The Deepings SC team performed tremendously, with a total medal haul of 11 gold, 24 silver and 16 bronze medals. That's 51 medals brought home by Deepings swimmers! 

As well as all of the medals the swimmers achieved 5 New Club Records, 117 Long Course PBs, 57 PBs converted times/short course& 71 CQTs.

A big thank you to the coaches and assistants who were poolside at the meet - Lynn, Steve, Mick and Elisha; Chris Shaw who organised the trip and got us there and back safely and Nanny P (and helpers) who sorted our shirts and kept us fed and watered whilst at the pool.
