Congratulations to the following swimmers who competed at Derventio Open Meet last weekend
Alex Wray
Competing in 2 events over the weekend!
He is off to Glasgow to swim in the British Championships which start on Tuesday 12th April
He made 3 finals 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly & 100m Freestyle
He had two tremendous swim bring home gold in both the 100m Freestyle and Butterfly events.
And gained two new County Long Course Records and at the same time 2 New Club Records.
We wish him well in Glasgow!
Thomas Neal
Competing in 4 events over the weekend!
Finished 7th in the 100m Backstroke set a Midland Qualifying Time. He also went on to gain another Midland time this time in the 50m Butterfly.
He achieved 5 new long course PBs and 1 converted & 3 MQTs
Jessie Spooner
Competing in 1 event!
She elected to swim the 800m Freestyle for the very first time long course!
She was another swimmer who swam both in Sheffield and Leicester
She swam very well here where she achieved a new long course PB
Bailie Harrison
Competed in 5 events!
Bailie had a very busy weekend swimming here in Sheffield long course and at Leicester where she swam short course events.
She had a brilliant swim in the 50m Fly at the Midland Champs in November where she first went under 30 seconds and broke the girls 13 year club record.
She turned 14yrs in November, since then she broke this record at the County Championship in February.
And again twice this weekend at Leicester and here at Sheffield where she gained a bronze medal.
Emily McCann
Competed in 8 events!
Emily was our busiest swimming in Sheffield swimming 8 events long course, not an easy task!
She swam well achieving 6 new long courses PBs.
Her highest place swim was in the 200m Butterfly where she finished 14th
Alexandra Cooper
Competed in 1 event
Alexandra was also busy travelling between Leicester and Sheffield this weekend.
Here she elected to swim just 1event the 200m IM long course.
She performed well on this occasion but was unable to equal her PB.
She finished in 29th place in her age group
Berri Harrison
Competed in 1 event
Berri was also swimming in Leicester over the weekend but here she elected to swim the 50m Breaststroke,
She swam an excellent long course PB.
