Laura Colledge Wins 400m Freestyle In Her Age Group At The Games!
21 CQTS, 63 Long Course PBs & 11 Converted Times Were Achieved.
Schools out and as usual a group of Deepings Swimmers took a trip over to Amsterdam to compete in the Youth Friendship Games. This year seven swimmers took up the opportunity to swim in a long course pool and possibility make new friends. Last year it was all girls that went but this year I’m pleased to say five boys and two girls attended, they were Oliver Perkins, Adam Bolster, Lee Fisher, Jordan Templer, Callum Clark, Elisha Penman and Laura Colledge. and they all produced some excellent long course PBs and many achieved new County Qualifying Times as the results show.
This event brings young people from all over the world together from the ages of 11 to 19 years; this event apart from being a lot of fun also raises money for charity. This tournament consist of eight sports; Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Swimming, Wrestling, Bowling and Tennis. Everyone that competes at the tournament receives a pennant as a souvenir, which is a nice touch.
