Results of the ‘Nifty 50's’ at Thetford,
6 September 2009
A team of Deepings swimmers travelled to Thetford last Sunday to compete in their Nifty 50s Open Meet. This was their first meet since returning from the summer break and I’m pleased to report they are still in excellent shape and were on top form at Thetford.
It was trophies galore for our swimmers - across all age groups too! They achieved a superb number of new CQTs with some excellent PBs. All our swimmers did tremendously well on the day but I need to mention three swimmers in particular:-
Dom Gray (15/O), Andrew Noble (10 yrs) and Eleanor Templer (9 yrs).
Dom set a New County Age Group Time and dominated the events he entered.
Andrew & Eleanor were comfortable winners in many of their events too. The events they didn’t win saw them finish in second or third. Congratulations!
I must say well done to Dominic Smith (9yrs), Eloise Bennett (11yrs) & Damian Rutterford (11yrs) for entering their first ever open meet away from home. All three swimmers achieved PBs and swam very well on the day; I hope this will be your first of many. Also, all the boys who entered the 50m Breaststroke achieved a PB, and there were some huge PBs in the 100m I.M. too - like Shelby Cluff and Georgia Brownsword who, I believe, both took over 20 seconds off their current times.
If you won any of the 38 Trophies, or achieved any of the 33 PBs or 21 CQTs produced on the day - Congratulations!
I’m sorry if you didn’t get a mention on this occasion - as you can see from the results there are just too many stars to mention them all individually!
