Congratulations to Marcus Cook on his achievements at Sheffield last weekend! It’s marvellous to see he is almost back to full fitness after developing a chest infection last month. Marcus chose to swim in one of his favourite pools Sheffield Ponds Forge and didn’t he do well … winning three events, gaining 2 new MQTs and securing 10 new long course PBs / 4 converted ones.
He knew it was going to be a good weekend when he got off to an excellent start in the heats of the 400m IM when, by the end of the first 50m (the fly) he had already produced a personal best time. His form continued and he also ‘PBd’ at 100m too. It seemed as if Marcus had the bit between his teeth. As the results show he went on to win the 400m IM in his age group with a remarkable long course PB.
Over the course of the weekend Marcus swam 8 events of which he won 3 of them, finished in 2nd place in one of them and gained two 3rd places as well - a very impressive set of results.
