Another excellent gala. 2nd place again, and I say again because although we appeared to be third last time, we actually came 2nd due to Grantham swimming an overage swimmer for which they lost the points relegating them to 3rd place. We should have won last night but due to a bad call by the referee we lost by 3 points when we should have won by 3 points!!!
You all achieved 11 1st places, 25 pbs and 7 cut-off swims, so well done to you all. There were some very close finishes which seemed to come our way most of the time so you are obviously finishing harder and throwing yourselves at the wall, which is to your credit.
As usual there are too many pbs to mention them all, but notable ones cames from Anna Pywell (IM ) an excellent 6secs, Zoe Fisher (fly – 4secs), Joseph Barrow (ba/s – nearly 4secs) James Noble (ba/s – just over 4secs), and Emma Watts (IM – a massive 11secs). When was the last time you did the IM, Emma?
There were 7 events where our swimmers went thru’ the cut-off times, which means they will be unable to swim in that event again. Well done to Anna (IM), Alex (F/S), Andrew (Ba/s), Jordan (F/S), Alec (Ba/s) and Ben (F/s and Fly).
The next round is on 14 June at Kings Lynn, so please put the date in your diaries and be available. I would like to say thank you to all the poolside helpers and look forward to seeing you at the next round.
