Well done Swimmers – 2nd place – another good result. We had 23pbs, 11 1st places and 3 swimmers through a cut-off time, namely Joshua Chan, Matthew Smith and Alec Lamsdale. You haven’t escaped yet though, there are still a few swims that you can still do, but well done to all.
Notable pbs came from Ben Woolf who knocked nearly 4secs off his br/s time, Dom Smith nearly 3 secs off his ba/s, Joshua Chan a whopping 8secs off his br/s, Hannah Elliott and huge 7 secs off her IM and Alex Roberts an impressive 6secs off his f/s – an excellent swim Alex and also thank you for stepping in at such short notice. It clearly paid off for you too. Can I just say though, if your goggles dislodge on the dive, just ignore them and keep going especially in a relay as you really can’t afford the time to put them back on. !st places went to Niamh (2) William Swain, Baillie, Serena, Ben, Andrew, Joshua, Chiara, Berri and Matthew. Well done to all.
The next round is on 10 July and please note I have put a pre-selection sheet up. There’s not much time so please indicate asap whether you are available. At present we are sitting in second place behind Peterborough `A`. We’re in a good position, but we need to swim the best team possible to stay there so please try to be available.
Lastly many thanks to our poolside helpers for turning out particularly under the circumstances. It was bad timing on the part of the League, but they arrange these galas a year in advance so I don’t suppose the football was even thought about then!!!
