This must be the best gala ever!!! Pete and I have been doing the Fenland League for 25 years (yes, really, and we couldn’t believe it) and we can’t remember such a high score. All in all you achieved 17 Pbs, 7 cut-off times and a massive 29 first places, so well done Everyone. Give yourselves a big pat on the back. Lynn will be thrilled with the result.

We were very short of girls last night and Zoe and Aisling covered 9 swims and the relay between them and together with Jordan and Andrew, who had 3 each they achieved some very commendable swims. Zoe had 4 out of 5 Pbs which was excellent. I bet you slept well last night, Zoe. Well done to the 4 of you.

Seven swimmers went through the cut-off times – Hendriene (Fly), Jordan (Ba/s), Oliver (Ba/s), Zoe (Fly), Callum and Elisha (Fly) and Olivia (IM). Well done to you. It’s getting harder to pick this team now.

I have to say how well your turns and finishes are getting. Many times you came out way ahead of the opposition and the acceleration in the last 5 metres gave us those 1^st places time and time again.

The next round is at Deeping on 13 September. I’ll post the pre-selection before the end of the month so please keep an eye out and tick as soon as you see it. The selected team can then go up when you start back to training. Many thanks to the officials and helpers last night, and once again
