Fenland League Gala, Cambridge, 10 July 2010

Well done Swimmers – A somewhat tough gala with Peterborough and Cambridge to compete against and looking at the results I was very impressed.  We had 7 1^st places,  fortunately only one swimmer through the cut-off time and 23 Pbs which is very impressive considering all the pbs achieved at last weekend’s open meet.  We also had some swimmers making their Fenland debut and they all gave good performances achieving some good pbs.

The IM’s looked very impressive with Daniel knocking 6.5secs off his pb and going through the cut-off time(the only one) and a whopping 12.5 secs from Joshua. Something tells me you haven’t done that swim lately Joshua!!! Jessica making her debut and doing the swim for the first time in a gala knocked 3 secs off her time.  Other notable swims came from Leah (3 secs – ba/s), Alex (4.5 secs – ba/s), and Tom (3 secs-25 fly).

I understand a special mention has to go to the Rockliffes who were stuck in traffic at Milton Keynes.  Did you grow wings and fly!!!!  Thank you for making such a big effort – I don’t know the distance but you must have been some way away. 

Thank you to all the poolside help, especially Chris who took control of the teamsheets and results.  The next round is at Deepings on 11 September.  Pre-selection will go up before the summer break to give everyone chance to see it.  Please try to be available.
