This weekend saw Jordan Clark competing for the East Midlands at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge in the DSE British Short Course Junior Championships. The event brought over two hundred young swimmers together to show off their talent, with many swimmers breaking personal best times and a few even celebrating new British records.
Our own Jordan Clark had a fantastic weekend, coming away with three personal best times, 1 bronze and 2 silver (1 silver to be confirmed) medals. Jordan competed in 4 events and was on top form particularly in the 50m Backstroke where he swam almost 4 seconds faster than his current personal best time. This was an outstanding performance, particularly as this event has been described as being outside his comfort zone. If this is outside his comfort zone ‘brings on the other events’! He also produced two second PBs in both the heats of the 50m Breaststroke and 100m Freestyle, what a fantastic achievement. It’s not easy when you are the only disability swimming from your club competing over the weekend!
A full set of results can be read on the DSE website. Our thanks go to everyone that attended the event and supported Jordan at the weekend. The next DSE swimming event in Sheffield is the British International Disability Swimming Championships from 16-18 April.
