LINCOLNSHIRE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 RESULTS GALAS 3 & 4

Deepings Swimmers Do Themselves Proud At County Championships!
5 AGE GROUP WINNERS, 6 FINALISTS, TWO AGE GROUP RECORDS & 11 CLUB RECORDS GO!
20 Medals Won, 58 Personal Bests, 8 Midland Qualifying Times Achieved!
Once again Deepings swimmers have yet again proved their mettle, by producing some excellent results. Our squad have been working and preparing hard, they went to Louth on Saturday quite focused and determined to prove they can do well at this year’s Championships, and they did just that!
Day 3 was very successful for our swimmers - Lauren Wray was the star performer, making both the 100m Butterfly & Freestyle championships finals. She won her age group in the 100m Butterfly & achieved 4 MQT & 3 PBs. She also took four club records.
However everybody swam well! 58 swimmers swam faster than they had ever swum before. As expected a few swimmers swam to their entry times and a few swims below par on the day. But those swimmers turned it around straight away due to the positive atmosphere on poolside and the support they gave one another.
On Saturday, five Deeping members emerged triumphant as County Champions in their age groups:-
- 9 year old SERENA LEADBEATER (50m Backstroke)
- 10 year old ANDREW NOBLE (50m Backstroke)
- 10 year old JORDAN BULL (200m Breaststroke)
- 15 year old LAURA SWAIN (200m Breaststroke)
- 15 year old LAUREN WRAY (100m Fly)
JORDAN BULL (200m Breaststroke) and LUKE DE MOYA (50m Backstroke) also bagged themselves New County Age Group Records, subject to ratification of course.
In addition Eleven Club Records go, many of which went to our young talented swimmers:-
- BAILIE HARRISON (9) 200m Breaststroke
- SERENA LEADBEATER (9) 200m IM
- WILLIAM SWAIN (9) 200m IM
- ANDREW NOBLE (10) 50m Backstroke
- JORDAN BULL (10) 200m IM & 200m Breast
- ZOE FISHER (12) 100m Fly
- LAUREN WRAY (14) 50m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle, 100m Fly x 2 (heat & final)
Our senior swimmers were not going to be out done by their younger team mates, six of them made finals. Tom Lane and Lauren Wray both made two and Dom Gray and Luke De Moya made one each, which was excellent news! Our highest place swimmers in the finals were Lauren Wray who finished second place in Girls 100m Fly, followed by Luke De Moya who managed to take third place in the Boys 100m Freestyle.
There was some outstanding PBs done by our swimmers, far too many to mention so I have just picked out a few performances:-
- Chris Barrett produced two excellent PBs in the heats of 50m Backstroke & 100m Freestyle
- Jordan Bull & Andrew Noble produced huge PBs in the 200m Breaststroke & 200m IM
- Oliver Perkins in the 200m Breaststroke & 100m Butterfly which was very close to his MQT
- Bailie Harrison & Serena Leadbeater - 200m Breaststroke
- William Swain – 200m IM
- Zoe Fisher - 200m IM
- Grace Lamsdale - 200m IM
- Alex Wray & Callum Clark - 100m Freestyle
- Ben Woolf – 50m Backstroke
- Ben Rockliffe 200m IM

Our thanks must go to our Coach Lynn Chapman for doing such a fine job with our swimmers & to all those that work on poolside as helpers without your help, results like these wouldn’t be possible.
Also a big thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to either help on poolside or supported our swimmers from the balcony, it is very much appreciated.
This weekend’s achievements were amazing; you all did so well, if I failed to mention you I apologise now!
