UEA City of Norwich 2010 Easter Long Course Meet (level 1), 2nd – 4th April 2010
New Long Course County Record for Luke DeMoya in the 50m Freestyle and a Faster Midland Qualifying Time!
1 MQT & 11 New Long Course PBs Were Achieved At Norwich!
A few Deepings Swimmers travelled over to the City of Norwich to compete in their Easter Long Course Meet which was held over 3 days. After competing at the counties short course pool switching to Norwich’s long course pool proved to be quite a challenge to our swimmers but once they got used to it they produced some excellent long course PBs.
Luke DeMoya had an excellent swim in the heats of the 50m Freestyle which is a New Long Course County Record (to be ratified.) The time he set matches his own personal best time and is a much faster than the Midlands Qualifying Time he has already achieved. He first qualified for this year’s Midlands Championships by setting a time of 25.00 at the Midlands Short Course back in November. That National Time is now firmly in his sights - Congratulations!
Chris Barrett had a good swim in the heats of the boys 200m freestyle where he posted a new long course PB which when converted almost matched his personal best time. An Excellent effort!
Emma Watts was swimming the 1500m Freestyle long course for the very first time; she gave a commendable performance to produce a new long course PB.
Alex Wray, Elisha Penman, Thomas Freeman, Oliver Perkins, Emma Watts all produced long course PB during the course of the weekend.
Our highest achieving girl swimmer was Lauren Wray who finished 6th in the girls 200m Backstroke & the girls 400m freestyle. Luke DeMoya was our highest achieving boy - he finished 9th in the 50m Freestyle.
