Success at Cambridge Open for 9 Year Old William Swain

Just two swimmers from Deepings Swimming Club took part in the Cambridge Open meet at the weekend Isabel & William Swain.

William put behind him a disappointing Club championships result in the 200m IM where he was disqualified, to put in a fantastic performance at Cambridge Open Meet on Saturday. He set a personal best time which was good enough to give him the Bronze medals in the 9 years category, a New Club Record and a County Qualifying times.  This gutsy performance will have really raising his profile in this event particularly heading off to the County Champs in March. The time he set gives him a really good shot at taking the 9 year old title in the 200m IM on the 13^th March in Louth, we wish him luck – Congratulations!

His sister Isabel swam gave a solid performance in her 200m Freestyle event to finish in 9^th place.  On this occasion she was unable improve on time she set at Club Champs. Isabel is currently ranked 5^th in the County in this event, we wish her well to at the Counties in March too.
