British International Disability Swimming Championships (50m) Ponds Forge Sheffield
(Under DSE Laws & IPC Swimming Rules)
15th to 17th May 2009
William Holland-Leavens competed at the British International Disability Swimming Championships held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield over the weekend. The championships also incorporate the selection trials for the British Gas squad that will compete at the IPC European Championships in Reykjavik later this year. Last year swimmers were competing for places to go to Beijing Paralympics. This year swimmers had the opportunity to welcome back all those British Paralympics medallists, one of which was our own Rob Welbourn who now competes for Swansea.
I’m pleased to report that William representing Deepings on this occasion made the ‘A’ finial in two events - the 100m Breaststroke & 50m Butterfly. He also went on to achieve a new long course PB in the 50m Freestyle event. Congratulations!
